Editing Rates
Just like every manuscript, each editing job is unique.
These price ranges are provided to give you an idea of how much your desired work will cost. If you're not sure which service level your manuscript requires, feel free to submit a sample of your work for editing, and one of our editors will help you find the right level of service.
Payments are handled via PayPal, which allows you to use a credit card or your PayPal account. We offer several payment options, which can include spreading your payments over several months, or paying everything up front. Unlike most editing services, we actually prefer the "pay as you go" approach, since this allows you to stop the editing work at any time if you feel you're not getting enough value for your money. This can also help you manage your budget.
WritAnon offers three main levels of service:
Proofreading
Price range: $0.01-$0.015 per word
Choose this if your manuscript is complete, but you want a professional to check it over for grammar errors or style recommendations.
Copyediting
Price range: $0.015-$0.025 per word
Copyediting includes everything done in the proofreading stage, along with looking for inconsistencies in plot, character, and setting. Sections that may require rewriting are identified, but not corrected, though some suggestions will be offered on how to improve the section.
Heavy editing
Price range: $0.025-$0.05 per word
Including everything from both the copyediting and proofreading stage, heavy editing includes fact checking, reorganization of the work, and rewriting of sections as necessary. Our editors will work closely with the author to ensure that the integrity of the work remains intact.
